THE LITTLEST STAR: a musical story (Continued...)
Dedicated to All the Little Stars Who Are Still Waiting for Their Time to Shine
This is the ideal teaching, encouragement, holiday, birthday and thank you gift for little stars of all ages. Aimed at helping children believe in themselves, it's an invaluable tool for parents, school teachers, counselors and church leaders. The project has been used for children's plays, and it is available for special fund-raising projects.
For thousands of years, The Littlest Star remained in God's pocket, longing for the day when he would shine. Just when he gave up, turning his darkest shade of blue and crying his biggest tears, God sent him out on the most important mission in the Universe. Suddenly, it finally was time for him to shine! He had no idea that after all that waiting, pouting and self-doubt, he would eventually become the most important star of all!
The Littlest Star is brought to vivid life through full-color drawings by Robert Roberg, an artist whose work recently was included in a touring folk art exhibition sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution.
Presented in a musical theater format, the accompanying CD/cassette begins with a lively classical instrumental performance by Nashville Chamber violinist-composer Conni Ellisor. The centerpiece of the CD is a country/gospel vocal version by country hit-maker Margo Smith, a charting single that has aired around the world. The project concludes with a soaring contemporary jazz guitar number by three-time Grammy nominee Denny Jiosa. BREAKING NEWS: A 30-minute musical storytelling program has been developed for schools, churches and other venues. Please contact us for more information.
IT ALL STARTED WITH A SONG
In the autumn of 1988, Nashville songwriters Robert Roberg and Chuck Whiting sat down at the guitar and acoustic piano to craft a song called The Littlest Star. They performed it extensively across Middle Tennessee, receiving applause from little stars of all ages. Though several major music publishers expressed interest, the song remained in God's pocket for a dozen years, finally shining to life on radio with a hit single by Margo Smith.
This wonderful book and the accompanying CD, audio cassette tape, and T-shirt are evidence that, with a lot of hard work, faith, love and determination, anything is possible.
The Littlest Star: a musical story shows that every one of us -- even the smallest stars among us -- has a wonderful purpose in God's great big Universe. It encourages us to continue working toward our dreams... believing that one day, we, too, will have our time to shine!
